At first, I was just thinking where have the days gone? I thought I just posted on this blog, but then I realized I had never published it. Whoops! And is my baby really almost a year old and I've done such a poor job of blogging her first year? But the real horror was just discovered when I went to post some pics on here....all of my pics stored on the computer for the last four? years are GONE! I have some of them uploaded on various picassa, snapfish, photobucket, blogger, etc. sites, and we have backup disks of some of that time, but not really much since this gal has been born, and I have taken a good amount of silly pics of her on various occasions, but this is devastating.
We had some sort of Trojan horse attack our computer a couple of weeks ago, and I've been gradually getting things reinstalled, downloaded, etc. and it supposedly had only damaged a couple of file folders (why didn't our McAfee, Norton and Microsoft security stuff work?). I don't even know what website or email or what attacked us. I hadn't gotten to the pictures folder yet, now I wonder what else I'm now missing. I couldn't open the internet for a day until we reinstalled that; it made me feel a bit cut off from everything. I think it might have also taken out our documents and spreadsheets, etc.--I guess now I'll be checking....
Anyway, here are some pictures I took a few minutes ago. (It took me three days and mi esposo fabuloso to finally unhide all of my documents and pictures and 7156 pictures are now back). Hooray! I'm glad that they're not really gone, but I am now second guessing our backup hardware, and wonder if we should do something more with all of these pics. We used to download them all to disks, but then I end up not doing much with them because they're no longer as accessible.....
Finally posting.... (It takes FOREVER to upload anything anymore, though a anniversary present--new laptop--is in the works. So even though the pic wasn't the one I'd intended to post, and I can't get any more to upload, it will have to do.) I am not treating this blog as I had originally intended, so I apologize. I don't like to neglect anything, but better this than anyone. Someday I will do better, perhaps!
