This picture is actually a year old now, but it's the only one I could find on this computer. Most of us don't look that different, except I have a big belly now. As soon as I can get to my computer and have time to post something more recent, I'll put up other pics.

Just getting started...

I enjoyed seeing other blogs and since my sibs are getting in on this, and none of us have ever sent consistent emails, I figured that this might be the way to go. Plus, I always have pics that I don't do anything with. At least now I can post some, if I can just figure out how...

The things they say:

D and Dad are sitting in the foyer at church. D looks at the ceiling and asks what the blinking light is. After Dad tells him, D looks puzzled and says, "Why would anyone need a lotion detector?" 11/2/14

A asks, "Dad, will you make a pledge?"(actually referring to a fundraiser). Dad's response, "How about my life and my liberty?" elicits a muttered, "That's not very much." 2/10/14

"Mom, we have two parks. The big one over there is the silverbelt and the other one is the greenbelt." ZaJane 1/24/14

After being told that he could try blowing his food himself because Mommy and Daddy were tired of "cooling" every bite, D disappeared from the table. He reappeared a minute later with a fan, plopped it on the crowded table, and began plugging it in. He asserted, "I'm going to blow my food." 12/22/12

At the zoo, after being asked if she can see the zebra by the pond, ZaJane responds "Yes, daddy. I see TWO zebras, but one's upside down." 12/8/12

ZaJane: "I'm Darth Sideous" in a scary voice, as she walked around with a blanket over her head. (No, she did not watch that movie, but she picked up on the word from her siblings.) 7/26/12

In a serious voice, A asks, "Mom, how did Darth Vader eat??" 7/26/12

After getting off the elevator at the store, ZaJane asks sweetly, "Can we get back in the alligator?" 7/8/12

When Dad attempts to put shoes on Vida before church, "Um, you don't need to. The church is on fire." 6/3/12

"I didn't do it. Ewisa did it." (Even though she is nowhere around). Vida 5/17/12

"Ziza dooit." ZaJane's favorite phrase when someone is brushing her teeth. Miss Independent is starting to say it about other things too. 2/27/12

ZaJane can say everyone's names in the family, but her brother in the middle's name was a mystery for awhile. We finally figured out that she was calling him the last name of a little boy with the same name who comes over here to be tended. Now it sounds more like Bryce, but she still refuses to say his actual name. 3/1/12

When Dad places a badge on D's pocket and proudly proclaims, "There! Now you're official!", D replies, "No! I don't like Fishels!" 1/24/12

D looked at his bus driver (whom he hadn't seen for a few weeks) and said, "Where's your Grandma?" because she had dyed her gray hair brown and was wearing make-up. 1/16/12

As D is being a bossy 4 year old, Mom says" Well, aren't you Mr. Black and White?" D replies "Yep! And Ewiza's pink!" 9/11/11

Topher to himself when he thinks no one was listening, "Mom has an enchanting voice; she almost caught me. . ." 10/22/10

Toy to D, "Pretend you're a mommy. What do you say?" D responds loudly in an ogrelike voice, "I'm a MOMMY!" 10/22/10

"What are plants for?" (in a FHE lesson) to D. "Yeah, they really much, five...uhhh, computer!" (A somewhat typical answer when he's not really listening or comprehending). -D 9/27/10

Topher: "When I grow up, I'm going to own either and F-250 truck or a Volkswagon Beetle." 2/16/10

"Rearry (really), rearry, rearry happy!" "How do do dat?" "Mom, Adoo (Rewjay) hit (when he's clear across the room from him)." "High five!" -D phrases lately 1/20/10

Talie: "Mom, [Topher] let the cat out of the bag in class." She was referring to an incident when one of their classmates announced that her Mom was pregnant. Topher then jumped in and said, "Our mom is too!" 10/16/09

"This cheesecake tastes spicy," Topher referring to our treat tonight. So Dad says, "It's probably just tangy from the mandarin oranges, uh, wait....," as Topher pulls a chunk of something from his plate and asks, "What is this?" They both had whole cloves of garlic mixed into their desserts along with several other pieces that we excavated from an otherwise decent FHE treat. We are assuming that we have a blossoming chef in our mischievous two year, who pulled some cloves of garlic out of the fridge and threw them in while Mom was making dinner or helping with homework. He kept asking for more, so I guess it was made to his taste. -08/03/09

"Hi!" (walking over to anyone), "Bye!" "Muuh! Mmmuh! Mmmmuh! (blowing kisses loudly). D - 07/09/09

"I want to marry Kayla from the family reunion!" Rewjay - 07/10/09

"Dad, when are you going to lawn the grass? You know with the grasshopper (pointing to the lawnmower)." A - 03/21/09

"Peeeaa" says D when he wants anything, which is often. He especially likes gadgets and cups. - 03/05/09

"Incomplete pass," Topher to Dad when he didn't catch a food morsel thrown at him. - 12/30/08

Talie explaining Chris-tofu's name to A: "It's like tofu, the food." A: "What is tofu?" Talie: "It's a mixture between cheese and chicken." A: "That's his name??" (Just another nickname)- 12/23/08

"D [with a towel on] looks like Mary had a little lamb named Jesus." -A 12/16/08

Is [our blog] glow in the dark glue? - A 12/05/08

[My hair] has all of these pretentious lumps. - Talie (I smiled and asked her what that meant and she explained that it just sounded good.) -10/25/08

Dad was measuring the boys. Topher asked, "How tall am I?" "49 inches." A asked, "How tall am I?" "38 1/2 inches," came the answer. A then asked, "How tall is D? " "29 inches." Topher then said, "Wow, A's more than a yard tall." And the three year old responded, "And Dad's more than a house." 10/21/08

A: "This is to protect people from fires, but it's not made out of metal and plastic, it's really made out of wood you can see through." (He was holding up a toy microwave door.) 9/13/08

Topher: "I slipped when I landed as I was hurtling the stool" while wearing socks running across the tile floor. (This is what happens when they watch the Olympics!) 9/13/08

A: "I had a dream about talking food like zucchini and tomatoes." Mom: "Oh, like Veggie Tales." '"No Mom, it had no cucumbers, but there was talking yogurt...and also talking squirt bottles." 8/08

Topher: "I'm no longer digging a big hole in the corner of our yard. Now I'm bringing buckets of dirt to build Ompus Mons (Olympus Mons, a huge mountain on Mars) in our backyard, though it won't be as big." 9/28/08

D picked up Mom's toothbrush off the counter and decided it was his favorite toy. He then held onto it for several hours (including during his nap). He would shriek whenever anyone tried to take it. 6/1/08

Talie: "So I found a ladybug today. One of her wings was broken, so I've been protecting her from wind and dirt" 4/15/08

Topher saying "I'll terminate you" while pointing a stick at A. Dad gave him a look, and he retracted and said "I said germinate--I'm growing him." 8/9/07

A: "Mom, now I have an magination." Mom: "Wow, who told you about that?" A: "No one, I just got it!" 8/6/07
